Ticks and Mosquitoes

As Spring arrived and the daytime temperatures rise to above zero and our snow cover disappears, the ticks will be emerging and looking for a meal!

Please remember to do a thorough body check on your child after Forest school each day. Removing outdoor clothing and giving it a shake before getting in the car is one suggestion. Also, putting all clothing worn that day in the dryer for 10 minutes will also supposedly kill any ticks that are hiding in there.

As the weather warms and the grounds dry up, long sleeves and long pants are always a good idea (plus we’ll soon be into black fly and mosquito season! ). Hats protect heads from both the sun and from bugs. Bug spray around ankles and on the neck line, also helps.
