About Chelsea Forest School
Chelsea Forest School is a Forest School offering bilingual programs (English/French) to both preschoolers and school age children. Established in 1964, and previously known as Chelsea Cooperative Nursery School (CCNS), Chelsea Forest School is a local community institution that has brought Chelsea families together for generations.
Living in Chelsea and the Gatineau Hills, we are united as a community that appreciates nature and the outdoors. Over the past years, Chelsea Forest School transitioned from a traditional nursery school to a Forest Preschool and our teachers have completed their Forest School Certification. They are delivering a child-directed, play-based program centred in and around nature. Through this program, our highly trained teachers create a bridge between the child’s home and “the World”; helping to cultivate joy, wonder and stewardship for the environment.
We are a non-profit co-operative association, and a registered charity (106911076RR0001). Our school is financed solely through tuition, fundraising and private donations. The fundraising efforts play an important role in the life of the school. Each family is expected to get involved.
Registration for the 2016/17 school year is currently ongoing. For more information on Forest Schools and our program, email our registrar: email@example.com.
